Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Program

We are all included!

As diverse as Southern California, the San Diego Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Fellowship program enhances the exploration of ideas vital to our mission.  Our guiding principle is simple but true.  “We value and treat everyone with respect.”

Our differences — of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, socioeconomic status, abilities, experience and more — enhance our ability to achieve the Fellowship’s core missions of teaching and research.

The San Diego Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Fellowship is committed to achieving diversity, while striving for excellence. Diversity is a defining feature of the San Diego Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Fellowship program as we embrace it as a source of strength.

We welcome faculty, staff and students from all backgrounds and want everyone to feel respected and valued.  Such differences include race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, language, abilities/disabilities, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status, and geographic region, and more.

The recruitment and retention of an excellent and diverse faculty continues to be a high priority for the Fellowship. In addition to enhancing our teaching, research, and mission, a diverse faculty reflects our commitment to equal opportunity and ensures that we can serve the needs of our increasingly diverse community.

We strive to identify and implement practices that will advance these goals. These include broadening candidate pools, establishing clear criteria for evaluating applicants, guarding against biases in decision making, and treating all candidates with respect.
